Mary first joined the Melton & Melton team in 1996. After beginning her career at the firm, she went on to serve as a Controller and Chief Financial Officer in the oil and gas industry for over a decade. She returned to the firm in 2023 and now serves as a partner in the tax department.

With 18 years of public accounting experience, Mary works closely with clients in the oil and gas, manufacturing, distribution, and construction industries. Her expertise in tax strategy and financial management brings depth and value to the clients she serves.

Known for her curiosity and drive to be challenged, Mary shared: “I am very happy to have this opportunity to give back to the firm that was the foundation of my career. I would not be where I am today without the training I received. They recognized my constant need to learn and to be challenged.”

Mary lives in Katy with her husband, Doug, and their son, Dylan. They share their home with three dogs, Amanda, a miniature Dachshund who rules the house; Reba, a feisty Boxer named after Reba McEntire; and Montana, a terrier who gets outmaneuvered by both girls. Outside of work, Mary and Doug enjoy fishing together, and Mary is an active member of the women’s shooting league, A Girl and A Gun.
