John joined Melton & Melton in 1984 and currently serves as a partner in the firm’s tax department. His focus is on providing services to middle market businesses with revenues from $1-$100M in the construction, real estate, manufacturing, nonprofit, engineering, and other professional services industries. He has over 30 years of experience in providing tax planning, consulting, and compliance for partnerships, limited liability companies, and corporations with a special concentration on real estate partnerships. John also has extensive experience in tax planning and consulting involving real estate transactions, audit representation before the IRS, buying and selling of businesses, state and local taxation, and entity selection.
John’s devoted to encouraging colleagues and others in the pursuit of professional development. He has conducted tax seminars for a variety of banks, brokerage firms, investment clubs, and small business groups. He has also done a number of speaking engagements for bank groups, Rotary clubs, investment clubs, and business radio. John has supervised the professional education courses for the firm’s tax department, teaching classes annually to the firm’s professional staff.
John lives in Sugar Land with his wife. In his spare time, John enjoys an occasional saltwater fishing excursion to one of the many bays along the Texas coast.
