Melton & Melton Welcomes Mary Gauss as the New Tax Director
Melton & Melton, one of Houston’s largest independent accounting firms, recently added Mary Gauss as a Director to the firm’s Tax Department. Mary will play a crucial role in guiding clients through strategic domestic and international tax planning issues.
Mary joined Melton & Melton in 1996 before pursuing a career in the oil and gas industry. She has over 16 years of public accounting experience in tax and 11 years spent in industry serving as both a Controller and Chief Financial Officer. Her extensive background provides a unique resource to our clients.

Mary graduated from Northwestern State University of Louisiana with Bachelor of Science degrees in both Accounting and Computer Information Systems. Additionally, she earned a Master of Business Administration from University of Houston-Victoria in December 2014.
Mary is currently attending The Growth Partnership’s Partner Institute and recently completed the AICPA Certificate Program for U.S. International Tax. She is a member of the Council of Petroleum Accountants Societies (COPAS) and the Petroleum Accountants Society of Houston (PASH). Mary is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Houston Chapter of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.
